The State of Florida has published a 30% passing rate for any construction licensing exam. Florida is trying to make this a challenging exam to discourage potential contractors that don’t fight for completion and success. Therefore students that really “want” to pass, we believe their pass rate is about 95%. Passing their exam requires studying, preparation, perseverance and practice. However, taking the test for the first time, we usually see that a student’s pass rate is about 80%. When students attend our class more than once, which we recommend, we see that they learn more than they did the first time. Even when they take and fail an exam, they learn what not to do or what they should have done. In both of these cases, the student is improving their odds of passing so that they will eventually succeed. This is why we tell our clients that it isn’t a matter of “if” they will pass, but “when” they will pass.
