Construction Contractors (CILB)

For the upcoming 2018 CEU Renewal Cycle, contractors are required to take 5 or 6 core hours (seen below) and any remaining general hours to meet their CEU requirement. The general hours can cover a variety of construction topics. For example, we taught topics such as estimating, scheduling or financial management.
      Core hours
1 hour Advanced Building Code
1 hour Worker’s Compensation
1 hour Business Practices
1 hour Safety
1 hour Laws & Rules
1 hour Wind Mitigation (for GC, BC, Residential, Roofing, Specialty Structure, and Glass & Glazing)

New contractors that received their license as of September 1, 2016 but before August 31, 2017 will only need 7 hours of continuing education instead of the usual 14 hours. Those contractors that received their license as of September 1, 2017 but before August 31, 2018 won’t need any continuing education hours.

While we are not currently offering any continuing education classes at this time, we are planning on offering both live and online courses for the 2018 Renewal Cycle or we will be happy to refer you to another school.

Electrical Contractors (ECLB)

For the upcoming 2018 CEU Renewal Cycle, electrical contractors are required to take certain core hours (seen below) and any remaining general hours to meet their CEU requirement. The technical hours can cover a variety of topics, such as new procedures estimating, new electrical wiring requirements, and various electrical topics where you may need additional knowledge.
      Core hours
7 hour Technical
1 hour Worker's Compensation
1 hour Safety
1 hour Business Practices
1 hour Advanced Code
1 hour Laws & Rules
2 hour False Alarm Prevention (for Unlimited Electrical, Alarm I or Alarm II contractors)

New contractors that received their license as of September 1, 2016 but before August 31, 2017 will only need 7 hours of continuing education instead of the usual 14 hours. Those contractors that received their license as of September 1, 2017 but before August 31, 2018 won’t need any continuing education hours.

Additionally, for contractor's that fail either their trade knowledge or business parts of the exam three times, they will also need 7 hours of continuing education covering the area that was failed. This is required prior to being able to re-register for the exam a fourth time.

While we are not currently offering any continuing education classes at this time, we are planning on offering both live and online courses for the 2018 Renewal Cycle or we will be happy to refer you to another school.

Fire Protection Contractors (Fire Marshal)

For the upcoming 2018 CEU Renewal Cycle, Contractor I, II, and III licensees must take 32 hours of continuing education, while Contractor IV and V licensees must take 14 hours of continuing education. The course is required to cover a related technical discipline as well as the following core hours.
      Core hours
1 hour Worker's Compensation
1 hour Safety
1 hour Business Practices

In addition, Contractor V licensees may take a course approved by the CILB, except that they will still need at least 1 hour in the fire protection discipline.

While we are not currently offering any continuing education classes at this time, we will be happy to refer you to another school.
