In 2004, we at Builder’s Estimating and Exam School (BEES) wanted to emphasize instruction and the curriculum that we felt was needed by many contractors in Florida. Our goal is to provide the personal attention that would encourage students to learn and get the most from our classes. To provide the best for our students, we work closely with past students, potential employers and state agencies.
We offer Exam Prep classes for several licenses at our Sarasota location. We have offered and will continue to assist students with their CEU courses as they are needed every two years. We also have been teaching other construction courses like Estimating, Scheduling & Project Management since the start of the company.
As a second generation company, we are not willing to let just anybody teach for us, we have carefully evaluated each instructor and believe that any of them can meet your needs. Our instructors have successfully gotten more than 2,000 students to get their license with an 85% – 95% success rate for first time students.

Peter Ticola, Owner and Instructor
Peter Ticola, Victor’s son, is another of our fine instructors and is soon to be the owner of BEES. Peter holds Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Engineering from the University of South Florida and a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of Florida.
He has worked at BEES since 2005, after working 8 years in Engineering. Peter brings young blood into Builder’s Estimating and Exam School and draws on Victor’s years of practical experience to provide the best possible class for their students.

Victor Ticola, Founder (1945-2022)
Vic started BEES back in 2004 in order to give students the personal touch he felt was lacking in the education industry. He always said that “Education is the Key to Success.”
He started teaching shop classes to special ed students at the Sarasota Vocational Institute in Sarasota. Later he went on to teach at Sarasota High School and eventually he became the Program Director of Building Construction at Manatee Community College in Bradenton, Florida.
Before his passing, Vic helped thousands of student get their license and do better in construction.
