All Electrical Contractor’s exams are offered in two parts: a Business section and a Technical/Safety section.
Both of these exams are offered by Pearson Vue after the state has approved the student to take the test. They are computer based exams offered in 22 locations across the state and others nationwide.
When you schedule the exam, you get to pick the day and time based on what is available.
The exam is open book and we recommend that each student get familiar with all of their books to better guarantee a passing grade. Click here for electrical exam books.

Electrical Business Course
All the electrical licenses have the same business requirement covering topics such as contracts, insurance & bonding, licensing laws, taxes and accounting. This exam has 50 questions in 2 ½ hours.
We offer a 1-day LIVE course which covers all that you need in the exam, including highlighting and math.
Just because there is only one book on the business section, doesn’t mean that this part is easy. The Florida Contractor’s Manual can be one of the most difficult reference sources used on Florida Contractor’s Exams. We have proven experience with this book and we can help you pass.

Sign Specialty Electrical Contractor’s Exam Prep
This specialty license is for those contractors that want to install the structural fabrication and wiring of electrical signs and outline lighting.
The scope of certification shall not include the provision of, or any electrical work beyond, the last disconnect mean or terminal points. However, a contractor certified under this section may provide the electrical entrance requirements for metering and main disconnect of remote billboards or signs which are independent of any structure or building and which require no more than twenty-five (25) kilowatts at two hundred fifty (250) volts maximum.
